Why Clients Partner With Me

You deserve more than a guess. Here's what you get instead.

CDFA®

One of the most specialized certifications in divorce financial analysis.

I know exactly what to look for, what questions to ask, and what the numbers really mean for your future.

Objective analysis

Emotions run high in divorce. Your decisions should be driven by facts, not fear.

I run the numbers so you can think clearly and walk into every conversation from a position of strength.

Replacing fear with facts

Most women don't know what they don't know going into divorce. I change that.

You'll understand your complete financial picture, know what fair looks like, and feel confident and prepared.

In your corner every step

From the first document we gather to the day you sign, I'm with you.

You'll never sit across from your spouse's attorney without knowing exactly where you stand financially.

Do I really need a CDFA®?

Divorce is one of the most financially complex transitions a person can face, and having the right guidance can make all the difference. As a Certified Divorce Financial Analyst® (CDFA®), I work alongside your divorce attorney as part of your divorce team to make sure you walk into every conversation and every decision with a full picture of your finances. Together we look at everything: assets, joint accounts, retirement accounts, retirement savings, spousal support, child support payments, health insurance, and life insurance policies. We dig into the tax implications of your settlement agreement so there are no surprises when the divorce is final, and we help you understand complex issues like dividing pensions, qualified domestic relations orders (QDROs), and equitable distribution, whether you're navigating community property rules or the different rules that apply in Alabama. Whether you're in the middle of a long marriage, a gray divorce, or protecting yourself with a prenuptial agreement, my goal is simple: to help you understand your financial picture clearly, protect your financial goals, and step into your next chapter with a realistic financial plan and the confidence to carry it out.

Questions

Find answers to what matters most about divorce financial planning.

When should I hire a CDFA®?

The sooner you have clarity on your finances, the better your decisions. Ideally, you'll work with a CDFA® early in the process so you understand what you have before settlement negotiations begin. Even if you're further along, a CDFA® can still protect you from costly mistakes.

What if my divorce is simple?

No divorce is truly simple when money is involved. Even straightforward splits can hide tax consequences or retirement account complications that blindside you later. A CDFA® ensures you see the full picture, no matter how uncomplicated things seem.

How does this work with my attorney?

A CDFA® and attorney serve different but complementary roles. Your attorney handles the legal framework; I handle the financial analysis. Together, we make sure every decision is both legally sound and financially wise for your future.

Can you help if I'm already settled?

Yes. If your divorce is finalized, I can review your settlement to identify any missed opportunities or tax issues, and help you build a financial plan for what comes next. It's not too late to get clarity.

What does the full process actually cost?

Costs vary based on your situation's complexity and which services you need. During your initial call, we'll discuss your specific circumstances and provide transparent pricing so there are no surprises.
